Marie Ryder was born in 1966 and grew up at Ltyentye Apurte in central Australia. Marie is the daughter of Theresa Ryder, a highly respected landscape artist, Marie learnt to paint by watching her mother.
Marie’s depictions are typically of various kinds of bush tucker and waterholes that she finds on hero country. Marie skilfully paints the bush tucker of the region on backgrounds of dotted earthy tones. Home for Marie is between ltyentye-apurte and Utopia.
