Glenys Gibson b. 1968
35 x 78 3/4 inches
Glenys paints aspects of
the renowned Seven Sisters Dreaming story, a vast songline that crosses the
continent. There are many variations of this deeply significant story, but the common themes involve the sisters taking care of each other, looking after Country and adapting to changing environments as they travel great distances, from desert to coastline. Glenys’s
paintings have a rich design composition, depicting the forms of the seven
sisters using traditional dot and line work that is typical of the Western
Desert art movement.
