Aileen Adamson was born in 1988 and resides in Kaltjiti, formerly Fregon, located in the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands of South Australia. Aileen was taught to paint by her older sister, renowned artist Andrea Adamson (deceased). The two sisters share some stylistic similarities, particularly in the use of symbols and choice of vivid colours.
Aileen paints the story of the great creator being, Wanampi, the Rainbow Serpent). This is the same story her mother Kukika Adamson paints, and the story painted by her famous grandfather, Tiger Palpatja (1920-2012). Aileen inherited this story through her mother’s side.
Aileen has four children and in addition to painting, works as an Aboriginal Liaison Officer in Kaltjiti, assisting with interpretation and translation services.
