Dora and her sister, Betty Mbitjana, have taken to painting the signature style of their mother, the famed Minnie Pwerle, depicting Awelye - women’s body paint designs. These are intricate patterns, rooted in the ancient creation stories (Dreamings), traditionally made by mixing coloured ochre pigments and animal fats. These pigments are then applied to the face and chest for ceremonial purposes.
