Clarise Tunkin fondly remembers visiting the cave of a spiritual ancestor, Malilu, with her mother and esteemed artist Teresa Baker at age fifteen. Teresa taught Clarise about her Country and the sacred stories associated with it. Today, ceremonies and songs are carried out by women where Malilu’s cave is situated just outside of the community of Kanpi in the APY Lands. Women sing love songs to their husbands and seek out the healing powers of Malilu’s spirit.
