Janine depicts a Bush Onion
Dreaming story in this painting. The bush onion is a popular bush tucker that grows
around the edges of waterholes and creeks. The women see the green leaves and
know that buried below is an onion-like bulb. The roundels represent the water
holes around which the onion grows, and the myriad of white dots represent the
small onion bulbs. The women walk around looking for tucker, and when they find
a good place, they sit down and dig.
