In this painting, Michelle depicts her grandmother’s country, which is abundant in beloved tucker like pencil yams, bush tomato, bush plums and spinifex; which is useful for weaving, and for its seeds which are ground into flour to create bush damper, a bread-like tucker. As is typical of many desert painters, Michelle paints from a birds-eye point of view to depict features of the landscape, such as waterholes and rocky outcrops. Michelle's paintings often include aspects of the the famous Seven Sisters Dreaming songline that intersects the continent – many of her canvases incorporate multiple stories, creating complex, interwoven designs. Michelle has a natural eye for colour, often working in soft, pastel tones while skillfully preserving the salience of certain iconography.
