Selma is a proud Luritja woman who was born in Alice Springs but grew up at Urrampinyi (Tempe Downs) until she was removed by the government and placed in a mission boarding home in Hermannsburg. Selma has a great talent for acrylic dot-style painting, but however has found her calling in watercolours, and developed her passion for art ever since she saw the Namatjira brothers painting around camps like Glen Helen and Palm Valley. She has a unique and detailed style that captures the physical qualities of the land, as well as the inseperable and ever-present spirituality of her country,
