Clarise Tunkin fondly remembers visiting Malilu’s (a spiritual ancestor) cave with her artist mother, Teresa Baker at age fifteen. Clarise has learnt from her mother about country and the sacred stories associated with it. Today ceremonies and songs are carried out by women where Malilu’s cave is just outside of the community of Kanpi. Here, the women sing love songs to their husbands and seek out the healing powers of Malilu’s spirit.
