Roseanne Morton is the daughter of artist, Gracie Morton. Her great aunties are Gloria, Kathleen, Myrtle, Violet and Ada Bird Petyarre all of whom are celebrated artists in their own right. Roseanne learnt to paint from her renowned mother and continues to paint the same Dreaming stories, including Bush Plum Dreaming. In this painting, the finely layered dots of colour represent the low hanging fruits in various stages of ripeness. The lines that dissect the canvas are the tracks the women walk to collect the plum. The women meet at a campsite, depicted
by the concentric circles, to eat these nutritious fruits and conduct song and ceremony to the prized fruit. There are also many songs and ceremonies that relate to the bush plum.
