Sabrina paints a Bush Medicine design and depicts a deeply significant aspect of life for Indigenous people of the arid desert regions. Painting these designs is a way to pay homage to the spirit of the healing plants. Traditionally, the leaves or flowers of medicinal plants are collected by women and left to dry out in the sun. They can then be used in a variety of ways, often crushed into a fine powder, mixed with animal fats to make a topical balm or paste. Sabrina depicts the story using a reduced or monochromatic palette, and a fine, meticulous dotting style that is typical of artists from Willowra.
