Belinda Golder paints the Bush Plum Dreaming that was handed to her by her grandmother, the great Polly Ngale. The bush plum is an important source of vitamin C so is valued for its nutritional value, however the women also conduct a lot of song and ceremony to do with the bush plum. Just like the artists from which Belinda learnt to paint, she possesses an innate sense of colour. This style of work has often been compared to that of the 19th century Impressionists; reminiscent of the soft layered colour fields they used and their immediate emotive quality.
