Esther Bruno Nangala paints an important site where an abundance of bush raisins grow. This Dreaming story is associated with secret women's business and was handed to her by her grandmothers, Nancy Ross Nungurrayi and Naata Nungarrayi (deceased) who are both famous painters. Esther's artworks use traditional symbolism to depict aspects of the landscape and the women searching for the prized fruit. Once the fruit is found, it is cleaned by throwing it in the air to rid it of sand. The small raisins are then ground on large grinding stones to turn them into a paste. This paste is rolled into a ball-shape and can be easily carried for long distances as a sweet treat.
