Kay Baker paints the big and important story of Minyma Malilu. The story tells of Malilu, an elderly spiritual ancestor who sought to stop her daughter from marrying "the wrong man". In her paintings, Kay paints the cave where Malilu lived until her death. Kay includes iconography in her paintings showing the waterway that passed through the cave and the various types of bush tucker Malilu survived on. Kay paints with heavy and textural paint application, often in rich earthy colours.
