Naïve art is usually a term that refers to visual and fine arts created by self-taught artists, or individuals that may be lacking formal training. Naïve art is usually recognised for its childlike simplicity, and tends to offer a "flat" rendering style or perspective. Despite the innocence that this style may suggest, naïve art is effective at conveying deep and palpable emotion, as well as narrative. Naïve art is often appreciated for its honesty, simplicity and unaffectedness.
