Sabrina paints in a reduced or monochromatic palette when painting the stories. Bush medicine is a deeply important part of Aboriginal life, and the Bush Medicine design is a way to pay homage to the spirit of the healing plants. Traditionally, the leaves are gathered by women and dried out in the sun. They can then be used in a variety of ways, often mixed with animal fats to make a topical balm or paste. Sabrina paints roundels to represent the forms of waterholes, areas where the moisture in the soil allows medicinal plants to flourish. The Bush Medicine design is most often recognised by a brushwork design from Utopia, however Sabrina depicts the story using a reduced or monochromatic palette and a fine dotting style that is typical of artists from Willowra.
