Sabrina paints in a reduced or monochromatic palette when painting the stories. Bush medicine is a deeply important part of Aboriginal life, and the Bush Medicine design is a way to pay homage to the spirit of the healing plants. Traditionally, the leaves are gathered by women and dried out in the sun. They can then be used in a variety of ways, often mixed with animal fats to make a topical balm or paste. The Bush Medicine design is most often recognised by a brushwork design from Utopia, however Sabrina depicts the story using a reduced or monochromatic palette and a fine dotting style that is typical of artists from Willowra.
